| The IsoAmp Rapid
Staph Detection Kit is nucleic acid amplification test that utilizes
two sequence-specific primers and a probe for the rapid detection
of a Staphylococcus aureus specific DNA sequence. The amplification
product is detected by a disposable amplifcon detection cassette (also
provided). |

The kit may be used as an aid to detect Staphylococcus aureus directly from positive blood culture bottles in a research setting. In conjunction with a separate IsoAmp® Rapid mecA Detection Kit, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus or MRSA in blood culture bottle can be detected in less than 1.5 hours. |
